Lobelia ... Fan Blue ...

I may be mistaken, but it does look rather like Lobelia siphilitica to me................

I've never had that one Meanie I still have the label with this, I sent you seed from it last year , I would never argue because you never know if they have been labeled wrongly at the nurseries , I'll Google L.Siphilitica to see how much alike they are ...

Keith you set me a real puzzle knowing how knowledgeable you are about these things I was bound to take you seriously ! , First I Googled Penstemon Ovatus and the Lobelia I have to admit they are remarkably similar but then after a bit of detective work thinking back to last year we had a small pond in the area where these were being grown we decided to fill it and move plants and looking back at my records I did have 3 plants of Lobelia 'Fan Blue' growing there which means you are probably correct in that it is a Lobelia , which leaves the obvious question " what happened to my Penstemon Ovatus ? , I have a photo of the Lobelia 'Fan Blue ' in my garden records I will find it and the let you know where it is for you to decide ,thanks for your help :o)
Having Looked in my ' Garden ' photos list I can see the photo I put on of the lobelia 'Fan Blue ' 17/08/2010 is the same plant as this photo .. you are a genius ! I must change its name ....

I just know my Lobelias!
