Sorry to have to disagree with your other half but I reckon it's a gatekeeper, as Lindak says. Meadow browns are dusky brown all over. Lovely photo anyway?

Ladies you are right I have just checked the UK butterflies site and it is, I told him he needed to wear his glasses or get new ones lol
