Gloriosa carsonii (Gloriosa carsonii)

I really like this one. Nice deep red shading, excellent greeny yellow and by far the best shape of all the Gloriosa that I've grown.

That's lovely Meanie, but also depressing lol I think I've killed my gloriosa I replanted the tubers like I do every year and watered then I did a really stupid thing and watered them again before they sprouted because it was so warm, why did I do that!!!! Got them flipping scarid flies ,now all I have are four very pathetic 4 or 5 inch stems !!!!

I always wet them from the bottom when I repot them.
On the plus side, if you have stems you still have tubers. I would be tempted to try to keep them going until Christmas time if possible to grow the daughters as big as possible for next year.

On the even more plus side, this is now my Gloriosa of choice! On the down side, it is also the Gloriosa of choice for the slugs!

Thank you Meanie, I've just taken a look and they are beautiful and very unusual. I wish I had somewhere I could grow them. :(
