Flowering much earlier than usual this year and just starting to show it's lovely soft pink colouring.

Thanks for the comment! They are beautiful aren't they. When we lived in the north of Scotland I could never have hoped to grow them, but two years ago when we stopped strimming an area on the Quinta I was surprised to see some strong shoots with large leaves appear. Within a month I was sure it was a Brug and later that year it produced several large deep yellow flowers....and I was hooked! I have several more now grown from cuttings last year. Flamenco is one of them. Also have the "Blue Brugmansia" Iochroma austral which has gone mad and is over seven feet tall. It even kept some of it's leaves through the winter....and we do get the occasional frost.

I like these, and I know they grow here. The Wine Museum in Biscoitos has a huge one in its courtyard. The Iochroma sounds very interesting. I am never sure what will grow here. Using the US Zones as a guide, sometimes zone 8 will grow and sometimes zone 10 won't.
