Lovely Hywel, I was really tempted by this one at Harrogate Show last week there was a stall selling hardy fuchsias 3 for a fiver,how could I resist, when i saw the size of the flowers on this I had it in my hand but then the stall holder said it wasn't totally hardy so it went back. I was looking for hardy ones for on a hillside, I have a couple on there already and they look really good so wanted more, I did get 3 though :-)

I won't try this one in the ground. I suppose it would be hardy in the extreme south, but not here.

I bought 'Genii' 'Hawkshead' and 'Preston Guild' which I was assured were hardy the first 2 I'm pretty confident with but not so sure after googling about 'Preston Guild' do you grow it ?, they will all be spending their first winter in the greenhouse, I bought some a couple of years ago and lost all except one over winter but these are much bigger plants and if it gets really cold I'll bring them indoors this time.
Also I'm just about to put a picture on of one I've had for quite a few years totally hardy survived both cold winters but it was way before the time I started keeping records on here of plant names wonder if you know which it is?, it looks amazing at the moment :-)

I've got Preston Guild. It's in a pot, but in my previous garden it was in the ground, and did well. It never grew very big though.
