140917 - flowering after being rather severely cut back
Comments on this photo
true, Dorjac! I was so worried when I realised how much I'd cut it back, and spent some weeks hoping before I noticed foliage reappearing.
not sure that I'll need, or want, to cut it back this much every year, but at least it's come back.

They do get rather tatty Fran if not clipped back regularly and fertilised as well. You can keep it about the size it is now with regular clipping each year. It will still bloom and leave room for other plantings near it.

thanks Dorjac. It certainly had got somewhat tatty!! Now I've cut it right back, a light trim should do the job from now on - well, at least until it needs another stronger pruning.

Just shows you can't keep a good Spirea down Fran.
