It is getting rather too large for where it is planted!

It is a large one, isn't it? but what a specimen.. Can you prune this one,Chris,or would it spoil its look ? I guess you couldn't move it ! :o)

John took the top out of it last year so this year it has become umbrella shaped like a giant toadstool!

Super! I love the shape.

I wondered how this tree had gained such a shape, ours is just one single stem.....when did John prune out the top, because we might have to........it looks magnificent....

He thinks that he pruned it in the spring, possibly April. We still have a problem with it as it gives too much shade where it is but it would be sad to lose it.

Thanks for the info, I love ours but it is getting rather tall in our small garden...
