Thank you both for your comments.
Fuchsias in pots should be put somewhere sheltered for the winter.
If you haven't got a shed, maybe they'd be all right under some shrubs, or at least by a wall.
You could try covering them with something as well - maybe bubblewrap, an old carpet, or a layer of leafmould/old compost ... so that the worst frost doesn't get at them.
I once found one that I had forgotten about, under a shrub. It had been there through a snow fall, and it was all right, because the shrub had sheltered it.

Thanks Hywel ...
I'll do my best to protect my fuchsias. Are you saying that it doesn't matter if no light gets to them?

They are dormant in the winter TT, and will probably lose their leaves ... so they don't need light. I put mine in a dark shed.
When I lived in the old cottage I used to keep them in the attic :o)

This one is a nice, strong colour.
Should I put my hardy fuchsias (in pots) in a sheltered place for winter please Hywel ? I usually put my other fuchsias in a cold frame, but there's not much space there.
I'm never sure what's best for fuchsias ... I don't have much space for protecting plants from winter weather ...
