Hibiscus acetosella

Blooming in our yard in Mexico. Perennial to zone 8–11.
Leaves are similar to Japanese Maple.
Flowers and leaves are edible and are used as tea or other cold drinks.
One recipe calls for the flowers soaked in sugar syrup, to be placed in the bottom of a champagne flute . As champagne is slowly poured into the glass, the flower opens, adding color and flavor to the drink. :-)

I speculate that the flower makes it a very beautiful drink. Good for your visual and other senses. The whiff of bubbles, comforting smell and delicious taste.
Cheers Amy.

Thanks Davids and Homebird :-) I do not know if it could be grown in UK (or our Island) Zone 8 is pushing it. It is truly lovely shrub.
