Taken October 30th 2014. My Vireya is blooming heavily this fall, the plant is literally covered in flowers.

Terrific! I still can't believe it looks so healthy with all the heat waves we've had over this past year. Usually, Vireya species like warm but not hot weather.

Thanks!
It seems unfazed by the heat this year. In fact it has never bloomed this heavily.

It must have loved the heat then. I always thought Vireya liked cooler conditions.

Other then a plant show- maybe- I wouldn't even know where to find them for sale. We have an Oakland Vireya garden. Doesn't seem to make any impact on nurserys to sell them.
And,that does look terrific.

I love the Oakland Vireya Garden! Every time I went to the Palmetum in Oakland I would go right around the corner to see the Vireyas. It's the best collection of Vireyas I've ever seen.
I know Berkeley Horticulture used to sell many Vireya species. I'm not sure about now, because I haven't been there in many years.

Thanks Stan510,
I did find mine at a local plant show, the grower is located in Portland, OR. Local nurseries probably shy away from these due to the growing requirements. Most Vireyas are epiphytes clinging to trees in their natural habitat. People can't just take them home and plop them into the ground.
Vireya.net is a good source for information.
