Better than the roads around here ! :( Here they are full of potholes and patches :(

They have plenty of roads with potholes here too Hywel. This is a toll road and they keep them in excellent shape.
Travel on these is not cheap, therefore there is very little traffic...as you can see in the picture.

There are some interesting mountains and scenery around here . This is road from Tequila to Guadalajara.

Toll roads? We have one just above the city of Toronto...Our infrastructure has always been a government responsibility but the toll highway was built and sold to a private entity. Don't like the idea of being told where I can drive in my "free" country.

Lori, you can drive anywhere and not use this highway here but you should see these roads running through villages with huge distribution trucks doing 20 miles/hour , roads full of potholes and "topes" (speed slowing concrete strips). These roads are OK for short distances but not to travel across the country. So, we can drive on "free" roads and take triple the time and be frustrated to no end or use these beautiful roads with no traffic, no pollution great scenery...and yes we have to pay a price for maintaining it.
Most roads in Canada are maintained from your and mine taxes. In Mexico ...it is another story. Most people here pay no taxes or very little.
