This village is an artists colony and murals are very popular art expression here. Every second house has some kind of painting on it. This art was popularized by very controversial but talented artist Diego Rivera in 30's and 40's

Very imaginative!
Klahanie - have you read the novel "Lacuna" by Barbara Kingsolver? I think you'd enjoy it - set in Mexico, there is a great deal about Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, and their meetings with Trotsky. Although it's at least two years since I read it, it's one of those fascinating stories that stays with you.

Yes, I read " Lacuna" Shaila. I enjoyed the book. She describes the life in Mexico very well. I like her writings too. Although, I did not completely agree with the description of the characters. Little off from what I know about them. Nevertheless good read.

This is done - a lot - in Hayward. Latin murals, Country murals of Hayward's farm days. Much nicer then blank walls.
