I absolutely love this picture Dawnsaunt. We have a oil painting, similar to this, not winter though, framed in our lounge. It's a very relaxing scene.

Isn't it beautiful?! But I'm glad we don't have any!

We've managed to avoid it so far, as well Karen. Apart from 1/2" yesterday, that melted quite quickly. Probably fatal to say it ... lol

Your trees look amazing!!!

Your lakes must be a lot of hard work to maintain but the result is stunning.
Are your tawnies still around Dawnsaunt? I hope they and their family survived and we might see some more pics this spring....?

Looks wonderful. I was in Edinburgh today and they have had no snow either. It has been the west coast that has had snow.

Thanks for all your comments :-)

Alan, what a coincidence, what season of the year is your pic? I like my pond best in Summer when the water lilies are blooming.

Hi Resi. We re-dug the pond a few years ago as the bullrushes were taking over, so now its deeper, its not too bad to maintain.

I heard the owls hooting the other night, male and female calls so the adults are around and pairing up. We hope the little ones from last year now have their own territories. Hopefully the nest box will get used again this year, we dont normally see the babies emerge until the end of May. I will certainly be looking out for them and taking pics.

Oops Dawnsaunt ... I have just been reliably informed by my OH that, the painting I referred to earlier, is a winter scene. I suppose, I have to admit, the white flecks on the trees and river banks COULD be 'interpreted' as snow. We have only had the painting 20 years mind .... When I sit in my favourite chair in the lounge, I sit 5 feet away from it. Subdued lighting ... that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. I'll post a picture, for you to draw your own conclusion .... lol

Alan, I've just seen your picture, amazing how it resembles my pond. Should have gone to SpecSavers, haha.

Thanks DD x

Haha DD, coincidentally, I'm due an eye test ? x

9 Feb, 2015

Haha. My mum is 80 years old and her eye sight is better than mine, since she had her cattarachs done, she can see better than when she was 40.

Hi DD .. "well done" to your Mum, pleased she has good eye sight at 80. <];~)

Awww Annella, thanks.

Thanks Alan, yes she's lucky. Hopefully after your eye test you'll be able to see in detail other pictures that have been hanging in your home for many a year, hahaha

Lol ... Hope so too, but time will tell. At least I haven't sheared the hair off a sheepdog by mistake, like the farmer in the adverts! Mind you my OH tells me I have been pruning and cutting back a lot shorter than usual. <];~)
