Mandarin duck is very rare in Slovakia. This one was 1 meter from me.

Thank you. I read somewhere, that this duck is the most beautiful in the world, thanks to those distinct markings.

They have striking colours. We have some Mallards in our neighbourhood on the Island which are also very pretty. Are these living wild, Katarina or do they have home?

I love these ducks! Their markings remind me of agate.

Hi, Klahanie, no, these are wild, as they always appear on the river during strong winters. I read about their track. They are facing now to British isles from the southeastern Europe. They just spend some time in the winter here.

They come to us always in January/February for a couple of days, so I guess, they are on the way to your direction, just resting.
