This is a very worthwhile shrub to grow, and is so slow......

Another lovely plant. I have just googled it to see if it would be happy here but I think not as it says it likes well drained soil! I wonder if it would be OK in a pot as you say it is slow growing?

Gee - for "well drained" read "not waterlogged".
One certain way to kill this plant is to let it dry out at the roots. It would be better planted in the ground in a moist, shady corner.

Thanks, Andrew, but I think my garden may come under the 'waterlogged' description at the moment! Shame, as it looks such a lovely plant.

That is a shame Gee as it is quite a forgiving plant, this is not in moist soil, have to remember to water it in the summer......
