Thanks all, the grass does look pretty in the sun, Gee the grass is a Red Sedge Uncinia rubra, likes moist soil and full sun, cheap and cheerful from B & Q and can be split......

I found a similar grass to this growing in the flowerbed. Gerry put it in a pot for me. Must have been seeded by a bird.

Like the colours of the Sedge (will keep an eye out for it) with the Ogripodium. Is the shrub in the middle Rhododendron (Azalea) luteum? That would look splendid!

Siris the plant in the middle is Cornus controversa variegata (Wedding cake tree!!) it is very slow growing, so by the time it outgrows its position the garden will have changed lol

That's nice, the white variegated foliage will contrast with the black. I have double snowdrops and silver-leaved Cyclamen interspersed with my Ogripodium.

Oh yes I can see that going together well.....
