Sad to see the leaves are already being nibbled ... tiny black slugs most likely.

Thanks ladies ... I do think the damage is from slugs as I found a tiny black one lurking in a Polyanthus flower ... grrr!

A number of years ago, I was advised by a keen hosta grower, to always put slug pellets out on Valentine's Day!!

Wildrose we have already put some around the most vulnerable plants, found many a nibbled leaf, especially the Pulmonarias.
Love these Hellebores Shirley, ours are taking their time this year, which suits me fine.......

We went to a Garden Centre yesterday and were dismayed to see pots of Hellebores (which were beautiful) selling for £10 a pot! At that price, none fell into my trolley .....

How ridiculous......

Yes Dotty, that was my reaction too! There was a display of Drimys 'Red Spice' lanceolata in a 2 litre pot for £12 ... may go back for one of those.
