I have white ones at my front door. They come up through the gravel every year and say spring is here. Love them.

If you can find somewhere for them Balcony (do you have any fruit bushes on your allotment, they would remain undisturbed there) they are a wonderful bit of spring cheer!

Thanks balcony, I agree with Meanie these are growing in a gravel area but I have others growing under holly trees very much in the shade ... plus they have been in flower for ages and still look as good ....

Yes, Meanie, there are some Black & White Currant bushes as well as lots of Gooseberry bushes on Gerry's allotment. On our balcony there is little shade really during the summer as we face more or less Southwest so get most of the available sun going during the summer. I therefore don't grow shade loving plants on it.
