Wow! That's a lot of plants.

Yes, you are quite right! There are 100s of plants on the balcony! Probably many more than 500 if you count all the individual plants!!! Just on the top of the railing, in rings, there are 10 pots & in each pot there are 4 Mini-Tulips, 4 Irises, about 10 Anemones, around 10-15 Crocuses + 1 Pansy! Oh, I just remembered, several mini-Daffs as well!

Then on the bar around the middle of the railings there are pots of Carnations + 3 small troughs in which there are dozens of bulbs between Daffs & Crocuses & Hyacinths plus at least a dozen Pansies in each one!

On the floor up against the railings are 3 large white troughs each filled with dozens of Daffs, Crocuses & Pansies!

That's only on, or close to, the railings!

Shall I continue???

I have nominated this for Goypedia. The list of plants in each pot is very helpful to newbies. There will not be a lot of space left for your dogs.

That's an incredibly impression collection for such a small space!

I have thousands of plants..however, they're in the front, back and side yards.

@Scotsgran: Thanks for the nomination! :-)) I don't think it is advisable for newbies to copy my planting! I went "overboard" last autumn but I knew perfectly well they would have to be emptied out after flowering but the advantage of mass planting of bulbs is that you can get away with it as they flower using up their reserves built up the previous year. With plants this amount of mass planting would be impossible. Yes, I know we mass plant in hanging baskets but they have a much greater surface than pots & we pay a price for this close planting in the form of having to water & feed much more often.

We no longer have any dogs, the last one died around 4-5 years ago.

@Delonix: Thanks for the compliment! I learnt many, many years ago how to mass plant on a balcony taking advantage of horizontal space as well as the vertical space provided by the railings themselves, the enclosing walls as well as tying strings from hooks in the ceiling & tying them to the railing to grow climbing plants up them!
