Thanks everyone, this is so huge now I asked on another site about pruning but was told pruning would spoil the shape and could even kill it!! and only to prune out dead wood, its so pretty and the scent is lovely I'd hate to loose it so the secateurs have been put away!!
I'll post a picture of the whole plant when more flowers are open.

Good plan to let it keep expanding then.

Its gorgeous now Dawn and the scent yesterday in the sun was lovely, if the wind eases and it stays still long enough I'll take a picture later.

That would be lovely. So is yours in full sun? I want one as good as yours lol. Is it quite sheltered where it is?

Think mine thrives on neglect Dawn its one I always forget to feed,don't think I've ever fed it except when it was planted oooops, it is in full sun and maybe sheltered on one side by the greenhouse but it is at the top of the hill so very exposed to the wind really, this isn't growing in the heavy clay we have everywhere else though we had to bring in quite a bit of topsoil which was very sandy stuff and is all in the one bed but it seems to like it :-)

Put a picture on in a bit still mourning my lovely tree peony which had 10 flowers 5 of which have been flattened and snapped by the wind,and that is in a sheltered spot!! Flipping big hole in middle of it now.

OH NO. that is sad, is that the tree peony you put a photo of on. What a shame, there's always something ..... wind, frost, slugs, snails, green fly, black fly ..... grrrrrr
