Phil the glass house is shaded and seems to have pulled them upwards ,bit odd as other things are not particularly drawn.

phew! in the thumbnail, it looked like two outstretched hands reaching out to grab something! (sometimes not seeing too well can be fun) but now that I can see it better, like it a lot more!!

I couldn't see the green of thebuds in the thumbnail, it blended in with the background - all I could make out was the white ribs arching out like grasping fingers on long thin arms

This one stays as it is, It is quite a large family and the hood colour can be very different I am aware of brown, purple, yellow and white and there may well be others. They also vary in size from a few inches to around 3 ft.
Do you have a name ? one of the most popular is A.Candidensimum( may not have spelling quite right) that is brown and white ,here that starts to grow quite late, mine is not showing yet.

I was told it was Amurense Bjs, not that I mind what it is as it was the picture of it I really liked :-), its pretty hardy been planted in the garden since last summer and even a couple of tiny tubers that were thrown in as extras have grown.
Here's a link to a picture of the actual plant mine came from.

Simbad and Brian-I'm fairly sure amurense should be green, but it can be various shades of green. If yours is amurense then it could be a very dark shade. The Pacific bulb society website is a very good reference point.

Your leaves are a lot more above the flowers than mine.
