New use for walk-in greenhouse

150407 - I’d seen something on Amazon: a clear plastic dome, tall enough to put a clothes airer in for outdoor drying in all weathers. Could do with one of those, I thought; but it’d need to be well-weighted down to keep it in place – I’ve already got one plastic structure that won’t stay put. Bingo!
Got my tall A-frame airer, put one leg on the ground, the other end over the top support rod. Does the job very well.

I don't have anywhere convenient yet out of hte way to have a washing line; nothing to hang the other end on, and it's hardly a thing of beauty that I'd want t o see! there was a roatry arier stuck int he middle of the lawn when i moved in, but half the line was rotten and i didn't have the strength to open it fully, so it went.
i did put airers out, but had to keep an eye on the weather unless i wanted them rinsed again!
this is a bit annoying, as I can't get my head in to reach the back, but it's the best option so far. and theere's enough of a breeze inside to help dry the clothes. and they can stay out oernight with no probs even if it rains.

If you close it up on a sunny day the clothes will dry so quick it is amazing. I have quick dried socks in the mini green house a couple of days ago!

one of the zips broke, which is why I could no longer use it as a greenhouse - at least, not one to keep the cold or wind out! I had the door rolled up as in the pic, but then i thought, if it don't work as a door ... so I cut it off.
doesn't seem to make any difference to the drying: the wind can get in a bit, but that helps air cicrulation inside. Not sure I'd use the door even if it was still attached - on a hot day, don't want condensation dripping down!

What an original idea, Fran! If you can't use it for its original purpose then recycle it & find some other use for it - which you, so admirably, have done! Well done! :-))

thanks Balcony - lol it took me long enough to think of it, and maybe I wouldn't have done if I hadn't seen the pop-up airer "bubble" on Amazon

looking at it again, I think it'd be a lot cheaper for anyone to buy a walk-in greenhouse instead! though i did think of this for when I get my stargazng telescepe - thought it'd need even more anchoring thn if used for laundry

Discrete place to dry clothes out doors Fran. I use pruned off dried ends on the vine and a wire frame near the fence in the sun for rapid drying. Combination of clothes pegs and collapsible drying frames.
