That's a beautiful one!
I actually remembered to buy proper supports for mine last year so hopefully they won't flop with the weight of the flowers.

There was a gardener living in this place at one time but it was not the previous owner. They were not gardeners (raising a young family) in 8 years they did not touch a plant. So on a occasion I find a gem appear somwhere whitout knowing it was there before. We are living here for 12 years now.
Treetop, I know that peonies take a long time to get established, They say 7 years.
Simbad, I use tomato rings - upside down.

Simbad, I love peonies for several reasons. They are very showy when they bloom and then the leaves and seed pods are attractive too all summer. And my main reason is that deer will not eat them :-)
Thrupenny, this is very early blooming variety. They always come out first. I have some which are still in bud too.

I have one coming up in my garden, but I can't for the life of me work out where it came from. I haven't planted it.
It's a mystery (the truth is out there).
