This is the most amazing rhododendron. It was planted on the edge of very old cedars(not by me) and tried to grow horizontally to get to the light. It did not bloom for several years until we cut several cedar branches to let the light in. It blooms every year since then. I think that the flowers are amazing...lily like, kissed with pink and opening to soft white. Ever so elegant. One of my favorite.
I red that it can grow in shade. It did and looked healthy but did not bloom. There is another one in the woods which is very spindly and has never bloomed.
It is a very large specimen ...not suitable for a small garden.

Nice rhodie Klahanie, is it a large growing bush?

Yes BG, this is very large rhodie. The largest, if you go not count "tree rhododendrons". Very sought after by rhododendron enthusiast . It is also quite finicky but beautiful.
