Variegated Box and Potentilla

Variegated Box and Potentilla

These were planted in the seventies, and are still going strong. I "legged up" the Box about 15 years ago. (It could do with a haircut!)

Wow! I've never seen one that big! Your garden looks WARM!

It was really horrid this morning, Karen, and it is still very windy, but the sun came out this afternoon, and it warmed up quite a lot. I kept my fleece on, but I had a couple of hours outside finishing off my containers. Bliss!

There are quite big box trees on Box Hill in Surrey. You don't often see them in gardens, though. I think they are slow-growing, and most people use them for low hedging around flower beds.

I see a long legged bird struggling to get out of that box lol. I could not resist trying a bit of topiary on it. I like theb white Potentilla too.

I have been tempted a few times! But where it is - at one side of the wild patch - topiary might be a bit out of place. Legging it up is probably as far as I'll go! Both it and the potentilla have certainly given good value.
