Variegated Box and Potentilla

These were planted in the seventies, and are still going strong. I "legged up" the Box about 15 years ago. (It could do with a haircut!)

It was really horrid this morning, Karen, and it is still very windy, but the sun came out this afternoon, and it warmed up quite a lot. I kept my fleece on, but I had a couple of hours outside finishing off my containers. Bliss!
There are quite big box trees on Box Hill in Surrey. You don't often see them in gardens, though. I think they are slow-growing, and most people use them for low hedging around flower beds.

I see a long legged bird struggling to get out of that box lol. I could not resist trying a bit of topiary on it. I like theb white Potentilla too.

I have been tempted a few times! But where it is - at one side of the wild patch - topiary might be a bit out of place. Legging it up is probably as far as I'll go! Both it and the potentilla have certainly given good value.
