Do they shut out the sun from your garden Mel ?

Not really - it is shady down at the end, which I rather like, but the garden faces SE, so the sun is soon round. It is very sunny on the patio, and also pretty much in the middle bit - when we have any sun, that is! I actually think the camellia has done better since they grew up (I remember when there were no trees there at all!) because they protect it from the early morning sun.
