This was originally a Designer Sunset standard rose. As many of you will know, this is a beautiful orange/yellow rose. It grew well for several years, then for some reason the grafted standard died. The root stock however threw some shoots. These have been fed, watered and pruned, producing large bunches of these magnificent white roses......... This is my theory anyway, I may be wrong!

Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. We are just managing to get up to 20 degrees temperature here. Dropping down to 15 degrees for the next few days, with cool winds! How high are the temperatures in Laguna .... mid 30's ?

Thats amazing how that happened! I noticed lots of shoots on the stems of my standards, which I quickly removed. But you imagine the rootstock would be of a wild rose, not a beautiful white floribunda don't you!? Great result. Shame about Designer sunset. Its a beautiful rose.

Hi Karen, we are amazed too. Having been so dissappointed about losing the standard, as it was a birthday present ... we are now able to enjoy the pleasure of the white roses.

Yes, quite a compensation Alan! Will you replace Designer Sunset? I have a climber called 'Sunrise' which is probably similar colours. I love it, but it makes quite a statement!

We will probably stick as we are, Karen .... especially as I declared our garden "FULL" about three years ago.... lol

Hi Carole, glad you like it, we love it. I am feeling fine ... thank you. It is Junna that hasn't been well, due to the heat in Laguna.
