Thanks Carole, there are several more flowers on it now and we've cut the dead blooms of the Rose. Shame a rambler only flowers once a year :o(

I agree with you Shirley mine was just opening when we went to London but Im afraid its finished now , just left with the petals to sweep up ;0(

Yep ... the petals blew down on to the lawn ... we've had barely any rain so they have turned brown and just sit on the grass :o(

Sorry, Shirley.I've only just noticed your question.
Yes, I have planted a Daniel Daronda and Seiboldii (forgive the spelling.....probably not quite correct) towards the back of the garden......the Daniel Daronda is on back fence behind veg patch.
And, I am on the lookout for two ,probably, white or pale coloured large flowered varieties for growing up Obelisks in my two semi circular beds. (I quite like the look of a group 2 variety....Marie Boussilet, which I saw in a garden centre yesterday) They are both nearly finished now(dug the second one today and added grit and a little manure and started planting) so need to get the obelisks but can't get the ones I want so may have to order online.

Ooh, Daniel Daronda is a very handsome one, Sieboldii is stunning and Marie Boisselet is a pretty white. Good choices Paul. Don't obelisks come in all sizes? Too much choice methinks! :o)

I don't really want one of those plastic coated ones...I like the ones that are metal and made to look aged(I'm sure there's a technical term) but I can only find those in smaller sizes.
The one I like is called Loire by Gardman.I saw them on Homebase today but they weren't priced up and when I searched their site, it isn't listed on there. My son's girlfriend works at Homebase and can get me 20% discount but only from items in her store and they don't have them there(or, at least They didn't last time Iwent)

Ah, so you need her to persuade the manager to order some in for you!

I went to her store today but they haven't got any there and it's not a listed product so can't get it in.
I suspect, as she does, that it's discontinued. I should've asked price at the other store and might have got a bargain. But, I think I'll order on eBay or Amazon.

Any luck with finding the ones you want Paul? We were looking for a sturdy garden arch at a couple of garden centres today, cannot believe how shoddily built some of them were so I think we'll order on-line.

I ended up going back to the Homebase store where they were £27.50 each but no discount as not Stevie's store. But, that's the cheapest I saw them online.I saw them for £30 and £32 in garden centres.
And, I have the Clematis Marie Boisselet (x 2) planted up them now.
These obelisks aren't particularly strong but think they'll be ok with one clematis growing up and, hopefully last a few years!
