Wildrose, I find mine do best in a strawberry planter, on their side.

Bloomer they were my first buys when I was pottering around, if you remember I needed to fill some gaps, that was in June and they have been in flower ever since, not sure whether they'll survive the winter...

I was wondering whether to move them into my gravel garden, its nearer to the house and I have some alpines that are doing very well in there, they were planted new last year and are really spreading, its one of the driest areas in the garden but think I'll try your way first, I quite like that idea..
