Thanks all I moved this one last autumn as it was being smothered by a shrub it hasn't harmed it plus I've noticed a plant growing where I moved it from I must have left a piece in the ground I'll leave it this year and then move it to be with this plant next year ...

Pretty and unusual plants. Tried these years ago, just didn't do. Died, neglect probably!

I've just looked on the RHS website and I dont think mine is in enough shade - it says:

Grow in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil in deep or partial shade. In cold areas, a sheltered position encourages flowers before the first frosts. May need a deep winter mulch if cold but no snow cover.

I think I will move mine too Amy.

Good idea Dawn they do need shade ,mine has done much better since I moved it also it seems to enjoy more room around it,it was becoming smothered in its original spot ..

Amy. I went to move mine today and it has flower buds so I will leave for now.
