I did try growing dahlias, but found they attracted Japanese Beetles that destroyed a lot of other plants.

Might do Dawn haven't decided yet they were only £1 each so hardly worth finding somewhere to store them try different ones next year :-)
Ooo heck Wylie that's one thing we don't have to worry about its the slugs and earwigs that like them here .
Thanks Siris :-) my neighbour has a lovely display, I have my eye on a lovely lilac coloured one he has must ask him the name.

A lovely crop there Kathy ,earwigs are a nuisance they make me shudder especially when they drop off in the house ...

Must be the Dahlia s, I haven't seen an earwig in ages, obviously not looking in the right places.

As they were cheap, not really worth the stress of lifting them is it. They just turn to mush here and over wintering is dodgy. Enjoy, beautiful!

Thanks Amy eeeew yes hate earwigs.
I moved a small birdbath to wash it today Siris loads on baby ones underneath it nearly screamed and ran lol.
Yes I loose more digging them up Dawn a coupe in the ground came back this year, I'll give them a mulch and take their chances.
