I like them too.... but will have to keep this one on the deck. I found the hard way that deer loves it as well. I love the red one.

They are called flowering maples, Katarina but not related to maples. Hardy to zone 8-10. In cooler climates they are grown indoors.There are several hybrids. They usually have bell shape flowers but this one opens fully. Flower reminds me cross between a hollyhock and hibiscus. There is one in Butcharts Gardens in Victoria (here on the Island) which is absolutely gorgeous ....about 10ft x8ft. If you google "flowering maple" or "Abutilon" you will have lots of info on them and lots of images. Several GOY members grow them.
