I've had this Croton for years. It's been in this spot for a long time. I can't move the pot it's so heavy.

Screams tropics. Another to get. I would buy it in winter if its healthy. HD's didn't look it even in their greenhouse.

I've been very lucky this plant grows all year long. It flowered all last winter, also. It typically doesn't flower in winter, though.
I have to be careful not to let it dry out in winter, though. Winter of 2012/2013 it dried out to severely the leaves wilted and then some leaves fell off.

My mammy Andy- it grew all new and much more foliage, but it hasn't become red and black..its green, some red and black. Its almost October. Not much hot weather left.
I have to post a photo later.
Petra did regrow small leafs- but with full color. Crotons in the bay area is all new ground-lol.

The leaves won't turn color until mid to late Fall.
Definitely, it's very new growing crotons in the Bay Area (outside) all year. I tried for so many years without success. Good luck in the coming winter. I have a feeling it's going to be an interesting weather pattern this year because of the "super" El NiƱo.

That's a great looking potted plant. Says tropics like a Coconut palm.
I saw one at HD..but it had very little color and had lost many leafs. I had to pass.
Last year Andy I bought a Croton in January from Walmart in Union City. They already this year shut that down for the season.
