Thanks .... I only lightly pruned this year after watching Beechgrove in the spring and its had more flowers so I will stick with that.

Good idea Gnarly, I hardly prune my lace caps at all, just take off the old dead blooms when the new buds are breaking, they seem to flower well each year then.

Yes , flower buds are just underneath the old flower plus wait till the frosts are over TO PRUNE as you probably know the old flower protects the buds

Lovely Gg this seemed to be the in plant at Harrogate show last week it was everywhere I came back with hydrangea Dark Angel but might have to get this one too,they do quite well here :-)
