Thank you Sandra ! The weather has been great this last week too ! Summer came back !

21 Sep, 2015

Same here,Rose..we have walked a few miles this past couple of days..Not really bothered that it is raining this morning,as everything is so dry...saved me watering anyway :o)

21 Sep, 2015

Yes Sandra...raining here too, but it has turned cool !

21 Sep, 2015

I think it's going to be another nice weekend though :o)

21 Sep, 2015

Well...what a difference a day makes ! Sunny and very warm here today Sandra ! I hope they are right about the weekend forecast !

22 Sep, 2015

Those colours really tone well together don't they Rose? Rained most of the day here ... not a hope of gardening but forecast is for drier days ahead.

22 Sep, 2015

Same here Rose..we sat out this afternoon..:o) Sorry,Shirley..I saw it was pretty bad your way..I'm sending you sunshine tomorrow, hope it reaches you !Lol

22 Sep, 2015

I'll send you some as well Shirley !
I didn't have time to sit out Sandra ! Working on the allotment and sorting my borders out at home, plus doing the washing and cleaning the oven ! Phew ! That's only because the chap was coming to look at it as it decided to stop working! More expense !

23 Sep, 2015

Thanks ladies for offering to send sunshine our way ... it has stayed dry but cloudy so that's a start! I have emptied out 3 Growbags today as the Tomatoes were not looking good. The compost within the Growbags was full of Woodlice ... yuk!

23 Sep, 2015

Oh dear Shirley ! Thats not good ! I always put mine in huge pots, not keen on grow bags !

23 Sep, 2015

Rose, I think I shall use pots next year as the Growbags didn't seem to drain well, despite making slits in the base of each bag. Lovely sunny day here so I have cut the grass and decided some shrubs needs to be moved around! OH will not be impressed as I may need his help with the digging. He's not into gardening ...

I love this time of year Shirley , when we look at our gardens and then change them ! I have to move the huge Annabelle Hydrangea as it has completely took over part of the border , but I have to wait a while before I do that !

25 Sep, 2015

Hydrangeas can become big before you know it ... I was going to dig mine up in the Spring but want to get it done sooner now!

26 Sep, 2015

I would like to get mine done now, but must be patient Shirley ! I'm not good at that ! lol

26 Sep, 2015

Rose, I dug up and disposed of one of my pink Hydrangeas, massive root ball on it, then moved an Escallonia from another part of the garden to the gap created. Finally got all the Gladiolus corms grouped together, something I forgot to do last year. Oh yes, emptied out the smaller of my two 'Dalek' composters, a good weekends work. :o)

28 Sep, 2015

You know that saying Shirley...."make hay while the sun shines !" Well...hasn't the weather been glorious !
I decided to tidy up the huge Pyracantha at the back of the border, but got a bit carried away and now its not big enough ! hahaa!

29 Sep, 2015

Oh Dear Rose, I know just what you mean, it's very easy to keep pruning too far. I have a Privet shrub that needs shaping, must remember to stand back often, before I lose too much foliage. :o)

29 Sep, 2015

It was very difficult to stand back Shirley as I was on the top of a ladder which was just sat in the middle of the border ! Very scary ! Its a good job Rick wasn't there to see me ! He would have had a fit ! The sparrows didn't seem to mind though as they all flew back into it when I finished !

4 Oct, 2015

Rose, that's one thing I can't do, stand on a ladder without taking my hands off it! I just go to pieces and have to ask OH to help out.

6 Oct, 2015

I hate standing on a ladder Shirley, but if I didn't , it would still be one huge bush and the chap who had come round one day touting for business , wanting to cut this particular hedge and yew tree was going to charge £81 ! Why the odd £1 ! Anyway, I didn't want him trampling all over my borders and thought I'd get it done before he turned up again and Rick said to go ahead !
I was absolutely terrified, but wasn't going to let it get the better of me ! I was lucky because our neighbour at the back of us was outside and he said not to try and reach too far and he did that from his side and he is in his 80's !

8 Oct, 2015

What a strange amount to charge. Maybe he collects pound coins! Well done you for getting up that ladder. :o)
