I was very nervous when I split my phals and repotted them earlier in the year. Some were leaning badly and one in particular kept toppling over. Thankfully all but one are going to flower soon. The other one is nice and healthy so it should flower later on.

I'll be interested to see how they go on in subsequent years.

Clever girl Sheila I'm afraid I'm very lazy with mine I cut them all down in the spring and then put them in the greenhouse where they still are ,I suppose I should rescue them and bring them back !

You really should leave them in the place nearest to where they flowered Amy as they get used to those conditions.

You made me feel guilty Sheila I went to the greenhouse to look at mine and guess what one has a bud on it ,its back in the house :o) I Know Waddy but I don't like looking at pots on the window sill without flowers a lot of the time ... I want them to be in flower permanently Lol ...

New flowers will former on the 'old' spike but nowhere near as big. It's far better to cut the dead spikes right down so new spikes form. You have to have patients Amy...oh and fed them of course. ☺
