Polypodium glycyrrhiza/ Licorice fern

We have several of them around Delonix1, They like this PNW climate and our old maple trees. These are not invasive as some of the other ferns we have around. I pull out dozens of seedlings every week. Grrrr.....

I once saw an old swayback covered bridge in Oakland that had its old wood shingle roof totally covered in that fern. Then,they demolished it. I took home some large patches of fern. Only,it was near 30 years ago and what did I know? They died fast planted in the ground and only watered every now and then.

It thrives in a humid climate here on West coast Wells,
typically grow on living or fallen tree branches, mostly on Acer macrophyllum (big leaf maple), It does not like to be potted in the "dirt" but will grow in moss and decomposed leaves.
