Leycesteria formosa also known as Himalayan honeysuckle, flowering nutmeg and pheasant berry.

You just have to watch where the birds seed them or the garden would be full of them.

Took my green leaved out, ages ago, still finding seedling occasionally.

I've had mine years and this is the first year I've ever found seedlings, the gold leaved one has never self seeded in fact I've just taken cuttings from that one as I want a couple more!, maybe my birds don't like them lol.

I think the yellow is more interesting than the green, but both too big for a little garden. I am a sucker for coloured/interesting foliage, particularly evercoloured. Can it be called evergreen if it's not green? (Not that Leycesteria is).
