Anything with water if good.

Siris, the white 'flowers' are actually seed heads. I'm trying to think of the name of the plants - they have yellow 'plumes' and are very similar to Ligularia. The red is Cornus. Yes, having a stream is (usually) wonderful. :-)

this looks great spritz. lets hope for a good winter and your flood defences live up to their name like last year.

Siris, the house was flooded three years ago - the stream level rose by 6' in one day and we were utterly helpless - water came up through the floor as well as over the thresholds. We lived upstairs for weeks and weeks. I dread anything like that ever happening again - but we do gave defences in place now. I'm sure I wrote a blog about it...

Indeed it was, Homebird. :-(((((
Sorry I still haven't remembered the name of that plant Siris, but no, it isn't Solidago.

Siris, I found the name of the plants on the stream bank -
SINACALIA TANGUTICA.
I typed it in capitals to try to get it into my head!

Can you say, what the white flowered plant is, too distant to enlarge. Can't be an Astilbe? And presume the reddy one behind is a shrub.
