thank you. It really brightens up the kitchen. It's been in bloom for over 3 weeks already.

That's great! I haven't grown African Violet since the early to mid 80's. I want to try some outside under my shade structure . I think they may grow well there in the semi-shade and protection of my lath-structure. I know it would never survive outdoors in full sun. I think African Violets have the same hardiness as Gynura aurantiaca, which has been growing very well by my front door for two years.

We call it 'Purple Passion Plant.' It would be an excellent companion to African Violets. African Violets like to be crammed into smaller pots that seem too small. I'm sure you would enjoy all the new colors and styles available today. It's hard to get just one.

Yes, Purple Passion Plant is Gynura aurantiaca. The form I have grow more upright, shrubby than like a vine.
I thought I would attach planters to the braces on my shade structure and plant the African Violets in them. They would so beautiful in the many colors, flowering all year.

That sounds beautiful. I've seen AV that look more like orchids. Would love to see pics of your project.
