This enterprising animal was munching merrily for quite a while. I rattled the door handle and he fell into the shrub below.

Thanks TT and Lindak. I think he was stuffing his cheeks with seeds. They do like sunflower seeds.

These cheeky chappies may hug trees, but a feeding hug is just as satisfying. He is hanging like a bat and has the seed feeder in a fond hug. Once they suss out the benefits of a feeding place they don't let up on visits. I think this has developed, like fox visits have, over the last 20 years or so in town gardens like ours. They use fences to explore the facilities on offer.
