Weeping plum trees in my parents' garden

Ornamental plum trees? Pretty.

They produce edible plums, therefore, they are not really ornamental, I think.

Beautiful ornamental and edible, double value.

Thanks Siris, I want one in my garden one day, if possible. You can't eat raw plums from these trees; the fruits should be pickled, made into plum liqueur or cooked/soaked with sugar etc. They are very different from Western plums.

Not at all, I wonder if they are Sloes, they are a Prunus.

Japanese plum fruits are green and then turn into yellow/orange-y, not purple.
