More buds on the lower level than higher up - strange!

Thank you Klahanie. You could be right, but I've not noticed this phenomenon before.
Thanks Chris and Karen too.

Beautiful. I planted one in the middle of the lawn a while ago. I had to move it, because it got too wide to get round it. It did not appreciate the move. It started dying very fast from the top working it's way down. So, I cut the bits that died, but, left about 12 inches of trunk in the ground. New shoots are growing from it. I cannot wait to see what it will look like. Anyhow, I love this tree so much. I bought another one, just incase. I think the old one will survive.

They do get very wide M, and that's why I haven't got one here...yet! :)

They are lovely, Michaella, but they do like to spread their branches. Glad yours is sprouting . . .

Yes, gets very wide. I couldn't keep up with keeping under control. Plus, the idea of having this tree, is to let it spread out to its heart's content. I planted the new one in a better place. Lessons learnt.

Promise of a good show .
? Lower branches are closer to the feeding "bowl" ? LOL.
Without knowing anything about anything Sheila, I speculate that the lower (older) branches has to feed the upper (younger) branches. It cannot be the opposite.
There is probably a whole science behind it.
