Ah,no gender in plants....
On the other hand, if it caught insects and had jumping thorns- it's a must have! lol
Primula's are sold here in spring...Never saw a long lasting planting.
Cinerarias do better here it seems like. I have seen shady borders with various ferns including Tree Ferns with them.

I prefer primula to Cineraria Stan. I just got a pot of primulas from our neighbour yesterday..... so cheerful to see . They will go in the ground after flowering. They not only survive here they thrive.

I like Primulas look..they are in a way the answer to Ice Plants and Gazania's for wet climates.
One cold climate plant that is living for over a decade for me Klahanie? Cyclamen. Its even re seeded to other pots. Flowering just over now.
