Last year 16 April, a Dwarf bearded was the first to open. Today 15 April this historic tall bearded opened. It is usually the second of my talls to flower, last year on May 7th. Very reliable, unfussy.

Yes, Gg, but (don't speak too soon) don't think it will be that cold here in the South, and there are another 2 rhizomes of the same colour still to open.
Homebird, I think it is the same variety as the one you posted 11 days ago.

So, much more reliable than some of the moderns. It has stood up to all the rain, and wet soil.
Gg, didn't get any frost last night, but it did go down to
3 oC..

Hi
I had frost on the car windows this morning.

The outdoor digital thermometer said a minimum of 3 outdoors, didn't get up early enough, to see any frost if there was any!

What else?
See who else is growing Iris germanica (Orris).
See who else has plants in genus Iris.
