Never seen this color before. I wonder if it is strong enough for the Northeast...weather wise. I love the pastels, but a little jolt is good for the eye. So thanks for posting.

Sorry I don't know about that Wells , My book states any reasonable garden soil will do --thrives best in partial shade under shrubs and trees , its a ground covering perennial ...

Amy, Rubrum is quoted as having evergreen leaves, mine lost all its leaves this last winter and has only just started to resprout. At least I am hoping its rubrum, cause no flowers yet to identify.
