Oh yes. Note the copper band for protection. Fortunately it is dry here at present so the trilliums are doing well.

Yes, I saw the bands. My soil is cracking at the surface with the dry, but rain forcast tomorrow, and slugs.

Rain we could do with (cannot believe I am even saying that after the winter and spring we have had in the south) came back from Malvern after three days away, and had to water the garden and all the pots!! crazy!!

Maybe I am speaking too soon, but I have crushed the stems of any discarded Alliums ( not the bulbs) and put them in rings around my Hostas. Wonder if it will help keep of the slugs.

The Alliums were for discarding anyway, so far seems to be working.
