Gosh, its early! I wasnt expecting to see my ted hot pokers till July! I suppose some are earlier than others. This one is a great colour though Shirley!

Mine is also blooming but I do not have such a nice clump like this and I like the colour of yours Shirley.

Thanks ladies - I am not keen on these plants but OH loves them - keeps him happy! :o))

They do have a men appeal to them. My OH likes them too and my deer does not which makes me happy.

I like them but they don't seem to like my garden! I think they look very exotic.

Gee, we have horrible Sussex clay soil so I dug a lot out, put some decent topsoil, with the same amount of grit in the planting hole and voila!

Thanks Hb ... I removed the spent flowers yesterday ... along with many small snails hiding in the foliage. :o(

This is a South facing front garden, Gg, so it has sun for much of the day. I have a couple of Agaves in pots which are thriving by the front door, obviously sun-lovers too!

I love these plants, a bit hit and miss here unfortunately...

Angela, there are 3 clumps, the one in the pic just keeps on blooming, another clump has one bloom and the last clump has none at all. I may take out the latter one, as it's all foliage and nowt else ... :o(

Angela, the clump with no flowers the other day must have been listening to my threat of removing it as the blessed thing has sent up a single flower spike today!
