They look healthier this year than they did last year. I was tempted to dig them out last autumn but I am glad I didn't now they are looking better.

I know what you mean. I have been tempted to chuck out several and even to give up on them completely this year. But now they are growing well and i am smitten again! I find them incredibly addictive (you will have noticed) and I do try not to get carried away, but there is something about them isn't there.

Love them but didn't know about the pest & disease problem. Must keep a sharp eye out on mine.

I find the easiest way to treat them is to spray them at the same time as my roses and clematis...with the same fungicide. And feed them at the same time, with seaweed extract...the same as I give the roses and clematis.

I felt the same Sheila, but glad I waited as now they have burgeoned . . . should be easy to divide, too, come the autumn.
