Border lupin and Tree Lupin, both grown from seed. The blue from my white parent and the yellow shrub lupin from my friend along the road.

The Lupin tree can grow to 5 ft, but don't have a very long life. My friend, who gave me the seed gave me blue seed as well, but it is a dull slatey colour, so discarded that.

I grew tree lupins once but they only lasted a year for me, didn't like my heavy clay, looks like you have the right soil though very pretty :-)

This yellow one is from seed sown early last year, planted out last Autumn, maybe it will last another year. We will see, will take some seed though, as I like the yellow one.

Thanks for the info on the tree lupin. I'm like Kathy with the clay, so they might not grow for me, shame. My border lupins are still in bud.

Very fond of lupins.
So far ours have escaped the slugs and snails! I love the lemon one.
